The full-length feature film score by composer Ryan Strong. Above Ground soundtrack contains over 60 minutes of original orchestral music written and recorded by Strong. Above Ground premiered on SHOWTIME and stars Clayne Crawford (Leathal Weapon, Rectify, Walk To Remember).

This is the second feature film score by Ryan Strong with director Thomas Rennier (Lionhead). The soundtrack was mixed and mastered by Brian Calhoon (Australia, Just Go With It, Trespass) while the score was mixed for picture at Wild Fire Sonic Magic in Hollywood by Jason Gaya (Hell or High Water, Don Jon, Maggie).
It was decided early on by Thomas and Ryan that the score should be classic in nature. With that Strong chose to stick to using the orchestra for all the sounds with subtle support by electronic sounds. The strings played in unique bowing articulations help create textures and while sparse yet melodic notes from a grand piano held the structure of most cues.

Recently divorced Thad Sitter (Clayne Crawford) moonlights as a go-between for his boss, weight-loss specialist Gayle Benson (Heather Roop) and her illegal diet pill suppliers. It's all working out until the suppliers raise their rates, and Gayle murders them, forcing Thad to dispose of the evidence. He ends up in hiding as he is pursued by his former boss and the law. His ex-wife Julie enlists the help of a private investigator, who begins unraveling the mystery behind the murders and Thad's sudden disappearance.
